Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program
The Standard Offer Program helps Ontario meet its renewable energy supply targets by providing small electricity generators a standard pricing regime and a streamlined process.

Thank you for your interest in RESOP. As of October 1, 2009, RESOP has been replaced by the Feed-in Tariff Program (FIT Program). The Ontario Power Authority will no longer accept new RESOP applications.

Feed-in Tariff logo
In the context of the proposed Green Energy Act, a Feed-In Tariff (FIT) Program will be used to procure new renewable energy projects. A FIT Program will provide standardized prices through multi-year contracts that will help spark new investment in renewable energy supply, help increase investor confidence, and improve access to financing for these projects.
Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program

The Green Energy Act was introduced in the Ontario Legislature on February 23, 2009. It includes a proposal for a new renewable energy supply procurement program known as a Feed-in Tariff (FIT) Program that will further encourage the development of renewable energy supply. The FIT Program will replace the RESOP and new renewable energy projects will come under the umbrella of the FIT Program.

The OPA is committed to the development and implementation of the new FIT Program to ensure the continuation of success for renewable energy supply projects in Ontario. For additional information on the FIT Program, please visit our FIT website at www.powerauthority.on.ca/FIT.
