Clergue Generating Station (52.0 MW) - St. Mary’s River

The Francis H. Clergue Generating Station is a three-unit hydroelectric station located on the St. Mary’s River. The site was redeveloped for electricity generation in 1981 with the construction of a new powerhouse just below the site of an old station which had been in operation since 1916. The station has an installed capacity of 52.0 MW at a head of 5.9 metres.

Located at the outlet of Lake Superior, the station river system connects to Lake Huron.

Clergue has three penstocks.

Clergue GS is connected to the existing Hydro One line at Clergue TS.

This hydroelectric generating station generates approximately 385,381 MWh of renewable energy per year.
