Submission Process for Measures
The OPA has adopted an open, transparent and flexible approach for reviewing and maintaining the lists. We hope to harness the creativity and knowledge base of the local utility distribution companies (LDCs), manufacturers, academics and others interested in contributing to building and maintaining Ontario’s Measures and Assumptions Lists. This approach enables any stakeholder to submit new measures, measure revisions or other measure ideas to the OPA.
Submissions are welcome from any individual or group of individuals (e.g., company, organization, association). New measures and revisions to existing measure values Submissions for new measures and revisions to existing measure values must be accompanied by a completed OPA Measures and Assumptions Substantiation Form containing the references and rationales behind all values that make up the set of assumptions for the new measure or behind all suggested revisions to values. The completed Substantiation Form can be sent by email to new.measures@powerauthority.on.ca. For new measures or revisions to existing measure values to be included on the annual OPA Measures and Assumptions List (published every September), submissions must be received by the OPA prior to June 30 to allot time for their review. Submissions received after September may be added to the list (after an OPA review) as new measures and will be appended to the list. These new measures will be added to the main list on the next annual publication. Submissions on revisions to existing measure values received after June 30 may be incorporated into the list if the revision entails a significant impact; otherwise, the revision (after an OPA review) will be incorporated into the list the following year. New measure ideas New measure ideas submissions may have their assumptions developed internally by the OPA or may be part of new measures research performed by an external party. Based on the merits of the substantiation provided, submissions will be reviewed by the OPA and will either be accepted, modified and accepted, or rejected. If information and references provided are insufficient, the applicant may be asked to provide more information. |
