Greenfield Energy Centre (1005 MW) - Sarnia
Commercial Operation on October 16, 2008 Plant cooling is by a wet mechanical draft cooling tower. Process water is taken from the St Clair River and will be treated by an onsite water treatment plant. Effluent will be treated and discharged in accordance with the permit issued by the Ministry of the Environment. Natural gas is the only fuel for the facility. The plant is connected to the existing Hydro One Lambton Transformer Station through two 230 kV overhead circuits to feed into the Ontario electricity market administered by the Independent Electricity System Operator.
