Simple Cycle / Combined Cycle (Clean Energy)
Goreway Station (839.1 MW) - Brampton
Goreway Station

Commercial Operation on June 4, 2009

Goreway Station is a natural gas-fired combined cycle electricity generating facility with a nameplate capacity of 874 MW located in Brampton, Ontario.

Major equipment consists of the following:
  •    Three (3) natural gas-fired General Electric 7FB combustion turbine generators with dry-low NOx combustion systems,

  •    Three (3) triple pressure reheat heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) with natural gas duct burners and emissions reduction systems (SCR’s) during combined cycle operation,

  •    One (1) condensing steam turbine generator,

  •    An air cooled condenser (ACC) which reduces water usage and is capable of condensing the full steam flow from the HRSGs.

The plant is connected to the existing Hydro One 230 kV circuits V72R and V73R and feeds into the Ontario electricity market administered by the Independent Electricity System Operator.
