LDC Conservation and Demand Management Program

The LDC Conservation and Demand Management (CDM) program is part of the OPA’s larger plan to meet its demand reduction targets; this plan will see programs delivered to the market through a variety of channels for 2010 and beyond. The OPA’s portfolio of programs for 2007–2010, including the LDC programs, will be consistent with the Integrated Power Supply Plan (IPSP).

The LDC CDM program is designed to replace the third tranche CDM funding, which ends in October 2007. We anticipate that the program will be launched in the spring of 2007, and that a few programs will be funded in the summer of 2007, with the remainder being funded in October 2007.

To ensure these CDM programs are effective, the OPA is seeking advice from stakeholders through two advisory groups which include representatives from LDCs, consumer, environmental and other organizations. These advisory groups will build on guidance gained from related IPSP work.
