Electricity Contracts
OPA Contracts on Electricity Supply Following the successful execution of an electricity supply contract, Contract Management begins the activities required either to bring the facility online or to start financial settlements for Early Movers facilities that are already in commercial operation. For new development, redevelopment or refurbishment of existing facility projects, administrative activities include establishing timelines for deliverables from contract counterparties, tracking and ensuring adherence to project milestones, performing due diligence and analysis for proposed expansions, contract amendments or contract assignment and change of control where required. As of March 31, 2010, the OPA is currently managing 13,485 megawatts (MW) of electricity supply capacity under contract. This includes 3,785 MW of renewable energy supply capacity, 6,700 MW of clean energy supply capacity and 3,000 MW of nuclear energy supply capacity. This capacity was acquired through either standard offer programs, such as Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program (RESOP), direct negotiations with facility owners, operators or developers, or through a competitive procurement process. Furthermore, the OPA has recently announced 694 Feed-in Tariff (FIT) contract offers for a combined generating capacity of over 2, 500 MW. Delivery by Year and Energy Source/Technology Type for OPA Managed Contracts The following chart shows the progress the OPA's contracted generation facilities have made.
